PURPOSE. One of the most thought of and spoken of words in our generation.

“What am I here for?” “What is my purpose?” “There has to be more to my life than this.” “My life has to have a meaning!” “Is this all there is for me?”

We all want to count for something. Do something meaningful with our lives; no matter how small. We want to matter. Many of us want to be remembered for some noteworthy deed.

Finding out what ‘that thing’ is has kept many tossing on their beds at night, hearts palpitating, covered in cold sweat.

A Manual for Life

To discover the purpose and effective use of a product, manufacturers, or developers write a manual to educate end-users on best practices to get the maximum out of the product. These manuals often include assembly instructions, safety regulations, troubleshooting tips in case something goes wrong, and several other information the manufacturer deems appropriate in order for the end-user to have the best experience using the product. The saying goes, “abuse is inevitable if the purpose of a thing is unknown.”

Our lives as ‘products’ and God the manufacturer, He alone can help us discover our purpose and show us how to live successfully with courage, and enjoy it! The Bible, His love letter to us, and manual, enlightens us of His plans and purposes for His world and how we fit into this global plan. He directs us on how to live successful and wholesome lives, which please Him.

God has transmitted his very substance into every Scripture, for it is God-breathed.. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness. Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 TPT.

born on purpose for a purpose

Through our union with Christ we too have been claimed by God as His own inheritance. Before we were even born, He gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in His heart.

Ephesians 1:11 TPT

pur·pose | \ ˈpər-pəs  \ : the aim or goal of a person: what a person is trying to do, become, and so forth

Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Another word often used to refer to purpose is ‘destiny’. It implies something appointed for us beforehand. More often than not a remarkable course or end. True, the Bible will not specify for a person to become a Doctor, Lawyer, or any other profession the person may end up in (not that I am limiting purpose to profession), but it will enable one to identify God’s overall goal for humanity.

As we discover our individual bents; the things we are passionate about that makes sense to us and we want to invest in, it draws us in. Passion and purpose intersect. This is where we find joy and contentment.

Visual Editing

A huge benefit of blocks is that you can edit them in place and manipulate your content directly. Instead of having fields for editing things like the source of a quote, or the text of a button, you can directly change the content. Try editing the following quote:

The editor will endeavour to create a new page and post building experience that makes writing rich posts effortless, and has “blocks” to make it easy what today might take shortcodes, custom HTML, or “mystery meat” embed discovery.

Matt Mullenweg, 2017

The information corresponding to the source of the quote is a separate text field, similar to captions under images, so the structure of the quote is protected even if you select, modify, or remove the source. It’s always easy to add it back.

Blocks can be anything you need. For instance, you may want to add a subdued quote as part of the composition of your text, or you may prefer to display a giant stylized one. All of these options are available in the inserter.

Sure, the full-wide image can be pretty big. But sometimes the image is worth it.

The above is a gallery with just two images. It’s an easier way to create visually appealing layouts, without having to deal with floats. You can also easily convert the gallery back to individual images again, by using the block switcher.

Any block can opt into these alignments. The embed block has them also, and is responsive out of the box:

You can build any block you like, static or dynamic, decorative or plain. Here’s a pullquote block:
